Referees certification

The WORLD STRONGMAN offers training and certification for international judges along a pathway ranging from Level 1 to Lavel 4. In order to become an internationally certified for the WORLD STRONGMAN and be eligible to officiate at any WORLD STRONGMAN sanctioned event, you must be at least an National Referee Level 1. There are two tracks to becoming a National Referee Level 1. You will select a track based on the education pathway available for certification in your country.

The WSM Referee
Pathway Overview

The WSM offers certification to Referees who successfully meet the requirements for each level. There are currently four classes of WSM Referee. You must complete the requirements for the previous Level before beginning the requirements for the next higher Level.
LEVEL 1

LEVEL 1 is the entry level of the International Referee`s Pathway – National level 1. Referee Applicants must meet the initial qualification requirements before they can begin the testing required to earn the Level I designation. The testing requirements to become a LEVEL 1 include a written test and an in-person evaluation. Both must be passed within 12 months of each other to earn this designation.

LEVEL 2

LEVEL 2 is the next level of the International Referee`s Pathway – National level 2. LEVEL 2 Referees have received special training regarding judging individual & team competition, judging youth & students athletes. To earn the LEVEL 2 designation, Referees must complete the Level 2 educational course as Head of National competitions, pass the written test, and pass an in-person evaluation.

LEVEL 3

LEVEL 3 is the first level of the International Referee`s Pathway. LEVEL 3 Referee have been specifically trained to serve as Head Referee for National competitions and judging International events. To earn the LEVEL 3 designation, Referee must complete the LEVEL 3 educational course, pass the written test, and pass an in-person evaluation.

LEVEL 4

LEVEL 4 is the highest level of the International Technical Officials Pathway. LEVEL 4 have been specifically trained to serve as Head Referee, handle appeals, and evaluate other referees. To earn the LEVEL 4 designation, Referee must complete the LEVEL 4 educational course, pass the written test, and pass an in-person evaluation.

LEVEL 1 Pathway

Step 1

Register to enter the Referees Patway. Fill an application for new Referee.

Step 2

National Federation’s Referees Program leader will be notified when Applicant register to begin LEVEL 1 testing. WSM Referee Committee will review the application and either invite Applicant to begin testing or offer feedback on improvements they would like to see in your application.

Step 3

If approved the application, take WSM LEVEL 1 written Test & pass.

Step 4

A Practice. Do in-person evalution by judging at National competition.

Step 5

Become WSM Referee LEVEL 1. Reciving of the official certificate.
